Government extends counter-sanctions against Liqui Moly, Škoda, Beiersdorf
May 4, BPN. The Belarusian Council of Ministers has extended the ban on the import and sale of Liqui Moly, Škoda, and Beiersdorf products (trademarks Nivea, Eucerin, La Prairie, Labello, Hansaplast, Florena, etc) until November 4, says a document published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
Initially, Belarus introduced its counter-sanctions “to ensure the protection of national interests, taking into account unfriendly actions against the Belarusian people” for six months in April 2021, and extended them for six-month terms.
The targeted companies refused to sponsor the 2021 IIHF World Championship unless it was moved from Belarus. Originally, the championship was to be co-hosted by Minsk and Riga, but it was held only in Latvia because of political unrest in Belarus.
