Belarus’ airline to resume Tel Aviv service on Sunday
April 15, Pozirk. Biełavija (Belavia) plans to resume flights between Minsk and Israel’s Tel Aviv on April 19, the press office of Belarus’ national airline announced on Wednesday.
As before, the carrier will operate flights on this route twice a week, on Thursdays and on Sundays.
The suspension of flights to Tel Aviv was due to the temporary closure of Israel’s airspace, the press office said.
Biełavija cancelled all flights to Israel on March 26 following the launch of the military operation by the United States and Israel in Iran on February 28 and the killing of Iran’s longtime ruler Ali Khamenei and other top officials. The suspension was initially scheduled to last until April 16, for as long as Israel’s air space restrictions for foreign carriers were to remain in place.
Tehran retaliated by launching missile and drone strikes at Israel and Gulf states.
The US Operation Epic Fury against Iran aims to destroy the Iranian missile industry, defeat the fleet, prevent nuclear weapons development and ensure freedom for the Iranian people, according to US President Donald Trump.
Alaksandar Łukašenka denounced the US-Israeli strikes on Iran as a “treacherous attack.”
On April 8, the three countries declared a two-week ceasefire.
