Russian diplomats help Belarusians evacuate from Sudan

April 28, BPN. In the afternoon of April 27, Russian diplomats helped two Russians and four Belarusians evacuate from Sudan, Viktor Voropayev, Russian consul-general in Egypt’s Hurghada, told TASS.

They reportedly received Egyptian visas and left by train to Cairo from where they are to fly to Moscow and Minsk.

Anatol Hłaz, spokesperson for the Belarusian foreign ministry, has said that six Belarusians have made it safely to Egypt, while ten were staying in Sudan’s capital Khartoum.

On April 17, foreign ministry advised Belarusians against visiting the conflict-torn African country.
