Łukašenka sets up Hi-Tech Park management company
April 13, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka signed a new edict on April 12 setting up a management company at the Hi-Tech Park (HTP) to promote “intensive strategic development” of the Belarusian IT, his press office reported.
It aims to create conditions for further HTP development and will “open a new page in the history of Belarusian IT industry,” the release stressed, noting that all current HTP legal, fiscal, and financial regulations will remain unchanged.
The company “will represent the HTP in cooperation with foreign partners, assist HTP resident companies in expanding exports, entering new markets and attracting foreign investment,” the edict says.
The edict will set up a secretariat to support the HTP board of directors.
The government must create the most favorable working conditions for all IT companies, not only the HTP, Łukašenka told officials on April 11.
Earlier, Łukašenka criticized IT professionals for taking part in 2020 protests against his rule. The government cannot allow another wave of protests to come from IT professionals or entrepreneurs, he stressed.
