July 29, Pozirk. The Ministry of Defense has confirmed that electronic warfare units downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over Minsk in the early hours of July 29.
The ministry described the UAV as “an unidentified aerial target” and “a violator of airspace regulations.” An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
“The head of state is personally overseeing the situation,” the ministry added in its statement.
The announcement came approximately one hour after the independent outlet Zerkalo.io quoted an eyewitness as saying that the UAV struck a residential building, landed on a parked vehicle, and exploded. Zerkalo reported that it has obtained video footage of the incident.
