December 11, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has met with President William Ruto in Kenya to discuss economic and political ties, the press office of the Belarusian ruler reported yesterday.

Łukašenka urged Ruto to define cooperation areas and draw up a specific plan.

“I am sure that we can develop this plan, a road map, if we want to cooperate,” he said. “You should know, Mr President, that if we come to an agreement, we would move quickly down this road.”

He praised Kenya’s strategic position in Africa and invited Ruto to visit Belarus.

He also suggested that experts from Minsk and Nairobi exchange visits to get to know the countries better and prepare a concrete action plan.

Belarus and Kenya established diplomatic relations on November 17, 1993. Trade between the two countries amounted to $10.5 million in 2021.
