Donations to Belarusian political prisoners exceed €450,000 in less than two days
July 30, BPN. The online marathon of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners launched on July 29 has collected over €450,000 in donations for Belarusian political prisoners and their families. The largest single donation amounted to €10,000.
The fundraiser is running until midnight of July 30 but the organizers may extend it for another day.
Earlier, Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja hoped that the marathon would collect €500,000.
The fundraiser was organized by Volha Harbunova of the opposition transition cabinet and her team. Over 20 independent media outlets participated and streamed it on their YouTube channels. BPN was one of the media partners of the event.
