Average pay rises by 3.54 percent in June
July 25, BPN. Workers in Belarus earned an average of 1,927.1 rubels in June, a 3.54 percent increase from May, according to the National Statistics Committee (Belstat).
The highest average pay was in Minsk, the capital city, at 2,598.0 rubels. The Minsk, Homiel and Hrodna regions followed.
The information and communication sector had the highest average salary in June, 4,971.1 rubels. Other high-paying sectors were finance and insurance; professional, scientific and technical activities; and construction.
The Eurasian Development Bank warned that the pay growth and lending expansion in Belarus may accelerate inflation by the end of the year.
Consumer prices rose by 2.97 percent in the first half of 2023.
