Cash-in-transit services become state’s exclusive right

July 24, BPN. Alaksandar Łukašenka has given a state company exclusive control over cash and valuables transportation, his office said today.

He signed an edict that assigned the state-owned company AAT Biełinkashrup the sole right to provide cash-in-transit services, according to a statement on his website.

The decree also creates a centralized logistics system for transporting valuables and gives the National Bank the authority to regulate this activity, the statement said.

AAT Biełinkashrup was established in 2018 by the National Bank and two state-controlled banks. It is led by Alaksandar Nazaranka, a former security official who held senior posts at the Committee for State Security (KGB), the interior ministry, the Security Council and Łukašenka’s security service.
