Ihar Brylo appointed as Łukašenka’s aide for Viciebsk region

July 21, BPN. Alaksandar Łukašenka has appointed Ihar Brylo, who has served as agriculture minister for 18 months, as his aide for the Viciebsk region, reported the unofficial Telegram channel of the Belarusian leader’s press office.

The region needs development, while young promising managers need to gain experience on the ground, the outlet quoted Łukašenka as saying.

Brylo, 51, was appointed as agriculture minister in February 2022. He holds degrees from the Viciebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine (1996), Belarusian State Economic University (2008) and the Management Academy under the President (2015).

He worked as a vet before being promoted to management and later held executive positions at various companies. He served as agriculture chief at the Barysaŭ District Executive Committee from 2011 to 2013.
