Most Russian regular soldiers who trained in Belarus have left the country – Kyiv
July 14, BPN. Russia has withdrawn almost all of its regular troops that underwent training in Belarus from the country, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said.
The Belarusian defense ministry announced earlier this week that a new shift will arrive for joint training with its military personnel soon.
The spokesman, Andrii Demchenko, said Ukraine is in full control of the border with its northern neighbor.
He said the enemy does not seem to have a force capable of a new offensive.
“But we must be ready for any developments because, unfortunately, Belarus continues to support Russia in its war against Ukraine,” he added.
Russia has repeatedly struck Ukraine from Belarusian territory, where it has an increased military presence. It used Belarus as a launchpad for its February 2022 offensive on Kyiv. At the same time, Minsk says that Belarusian troops are not directly involved in hostilities in Ukraine.
