Cichanoŭskaja, Meloni discuss Belarus independence
July 7, BPN. A Belarusian opposition leader and the Italian prime minister have discussed protecting the independence of Belarus, where Russia deploys nuclear weapons.
Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja’s adviser told BPN that she met with Giorgia Meloni in Rome yesterday to discuss Belarusian political prisoners. They also talked about bringing Alaksandr Łukašenka’s government to justice for alleged crimes against humanity, he said.
According to Cichanoŭskaja, Meloni “understands our situation perfectly and is ready to help in words and deeds.”
