Cichanoŭskaja demands that jailed opposition leaders be shown to public
July 5, BPN. Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has demanded that the authorities show Viktar Babaryka, Mikałaj Statkievič and other jailed opposition leaders to the public, as all contact with them has been lost.
She was commenting on a video of her jailed husband Siarhiej Cichanoŭski, published by pro-government Telegram channels earlier today. The video shows the activist exercising and putting food on a table in a cell. “The heart rejoices to see Siarhiej. Alive. And strong,” she said in her post.
Two days ago, Cichanoŭskaja said she had received an anonymous message that her husband had died in a prison in Žodzina, Minsk region.
She demanded that the authorities allow lawyers to visit political prisoners.
