Belarus, regional security to feature on sidelines of NATO summit in Lithuania
July 4, BPN. Belarus and its impact on regional security will be discussed on the sidelines of the NATO summit on July 11 and 12 in Vilnius, says a program posted by Franak Viačorka, an aide to the Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja.
“We are organizing two side events on Belarus . . . with the participation of Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja, foreign ministers, heads of state, government representatives, and diplomats,” he tweeted.
A discussion on Belarus sovereignty and transatlantic security will take place at 10 am on July 11 followed by a debate on Russia’s nuclear weapons deployment and regional security at 3 pm on the next day.
On July 3, Cichanoŭskaja’s team reported that she was invited to address one of the NATO Public Forum’s roundtables and an Atlantic Council event.
