Ukrainian intelligence: Minsk will have no control over Russian nukes

June 16, BPN. A Ukrainian defense official has said that Alaksandr Łukašenka and others in Belarus will have no say over Russian nuclear weapons in their territory and accused Moscow of nuclear blackmail.

Andrii Yusov, a spokesman for the Ukrainian defense ministry’s intelligence department, told the Dmytriy Gordon YouTube channel that Russia alone will control the weapons.

“The people of Belarus once again become hostages,” Yusov said.

He appreciated that Belarus is not involved in Russia’s ground operation against Ukraine and dismissed its threats as “dancing with tambourines.”

The Vertikal Telegram channel, linked to Ukrainian security services, claimed the intelligence knows the locations and names of those guarding the weapons in Belarus.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that the first nuclear warheads had arrived in the country.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the bloc sees no change in Russian nuclear deployments requiring a change in its nuclear posture.
