Film accuses Ukrainian intelligence of plotting Victory Day terrorist attack

May 11, BPN. ONT, a state-controlled television channel, has aired a docufiction film suggesting that “Ukrainian special services were preparing a Victory Day terrorist attack in Belarus.”

The film “Killer Parcel” is a drama-documentary hybrid. It combines supposedly authentic footage of interviews with suspects with clearly staged and rehearsed scenes. It also features Uładzimir Atraškoŭ, captioned as a department head at the State Forensic Examination Committee.

According to the film, aired last night, explosives hidden in hotplates were delivered to Belarus and hidden on instructions from certain Valeryj Vodzin, a Ukraine-based Barysaŭ man allegedly linked with special services and a combat unit.

“The Committee for State Security promptly thwarted the attempt to carry out acts of terror on May 9,” ONT said.

Previously, the committee’s chairman, Ivan Tertel, said terrorist attacks were prevented ahead of the May 9 holiday celebrating victory over Nazi Germany.

“According to our analysis, these developments were tied to May 9 in an attempt to stir up the situation. The head of state is aware of them,” he said.
