May 3, BPN. Valancin Ciška, a Belarusian democratic activist, has told BPN that he is being deported from Ukraine.
Ciška coordinated the outlawed For Freedom movement in Maładziečna, Minsk region.
He said he arrived in Ukraine in 2020 and, after Russia invaded, did volunteer work at the train station in Lviv.
He went on to say that migration officials reported him as an illegal immigrant, although he had applied for political asylum twice and was waiting for a decision on the second application. The first one was rejected.
“Special services are driving me to the border with Poland,” the activist said.
