Belarus is going through unprecedented crises due to neglect of moral values, Archbishop Kondrusiewicz says

December 25. A renewed saving dialogue with Christ could lead to the spiritual revival of the individual and society that Belarus so desperately needs now. This opinion was expressed by the Archbishop Emeritus of Minsk-Mahilioŭ Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz in his Christmas greeting.

“It is very important and relevant in the present situation of our Homeland that is seeking peace, as it remains divided by discord, mutual accusations, absence of the spirit of repentance and mutual forgiveness, as well as a lack of culture of respect in interpersonal relations and inadequate understanding of freedom, that all lead to neglect of moral values,” the Catholic Archbishop stressed. “As a result, the calm and peaceful Belarus is going through multiple crises, unprecedented in our history”.

“Both in personal and public life, we need the people of goodwill who understand the complexity of problems, seek agreement, and are really ready for a sincere dialogue. We cannot wait for others to become good. We must start with ourselves, with our transformation, with rejecting evil and choosing good. Evil must be overcome by good. Nor should we forget that mutual goodwill must manifest itself in an atmosphere of truth which, according to Jesus Christ, makes us free,” Kondrusiewicz said.
