Supreme Court rejects media executive’s appeal

July 4, BPN. The Supreme Court has upheld the four-year prison sentence against Kanstancin Załatych, Mediarynok CEO and director of the business monthly Belorusy i Rynok, the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reports.

The hearing was closed to the public. 

On April 6, the Minsk City Court found Załatych guilty on charges of inciting hatred, abusing power, and insulting public officials and Alaksandr Łukašenka online. He has been in custody since May 2022.
