Most Russian nukes for Belarus already arrived – Łukašenka
June 27, BPN. A significant part of the Russian nuclear arsenal intended for Belarus is already here, Alaksandr Łukašenka has said at an epaulette ceremony for senior officers in Minsk, asserting that it will not be guarded by Wagner mercenaries.
June 23, Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin called for an armed rebellion to oust the Russian defense minister.
He later called off the uprising as a result of agreements reached with the Belarusian strongman and others. Vladimir Putin allowed him to “go to Belarus,” and his presence in the country was confirmed by Łukašenka earlier today.
“Some of the nuclear weapons (I won’t say how many), most of them, have already been brought to Belarus,” Łukašenka said, as quoted by his press office.
“The Poles and others think that… Wagner will guard the nuclear weapons and so on. Wagner will not guard any nuclear weapons,” Łukašenka said.
“The Russians are maintaining these nuclear weapons and we are helping them,” he said. “It turns out that it’s not an easy activity.”
