Łukašenka claims his army was on “full alert” amid unrest in Russia

June 27, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has confirmed that he put his army on full alert during the short-lived unrest in Russia caused by Wagner Group’s march on Moscow last weekend.

“All Armed Forces, including the police and special units, were put at full combat readiness within half a day,” he has said at a military award event on June 27.

Stressing the importance of unity and loyalty, Łukašenka spoke of “our Motherland from Brest to Vladivostok.” “It is the land, freedom and our people who live here,” he said. “History remembers [that] Belarusians know how to defend their land. We have been and will be stronger than any challenges.”
