All-Belarusian People’s Assembly to represent different viewpoints – Łukašenka
June 19, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has told his top election official that the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly should consist of people with different points of view but not his enemies.
“There should be different points of view in order for us to make the right decisions,” he told Ihar Karpienka in Minsk, as quoted by his press office.
Łukašenka said delegates to the assembly should be elected in a fair and transparent way.
The central election commission will organize local and parliamentary elections on February 25 next year, and the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly will meet shortly after.
Under the new Constitution, it is a representative body defining Belarus’ strategic priorities.
