Biden criticizes Putin’s “irresponsible” nuclear announcement on Belarus

June 17, BPN. US President Joe Biden has criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement that he started deploying nuclear warheads in Belarus.

“It’s totally irresponsible,” he told reporters at a military base near Washington, as quoted by AFP.

Putin said yesterday that the first nuclear warheads had arrived in the country.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the bloc sees no change in Russian nuclear deployments requiring a change in its nuclear posture.

Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja called on diplomats to discuss the alleged deployment at the UN General Assembly and Security Council.
