April 12, BPN. Volunteer corps will help local police maintain security, Belarusian Security Council head Alaksandr Valfovič has said.
“Besides, they will perform martial law tasks and fight against sabotage and reconnaissance groups in this or that locality,” Valfovič said, as quoted by the defense ministry.
On June 3, Alaksandr Łukašenka said he took into account the “negative Ukrainian experience” and decided “just in case to have people’s volunteers, a group of people, under control of every village council.”
