Two more weeks in jail for prominent politician’s son
April 12, BPN. A court in Belarus sentenced the jailed son of Anatol Labiedźka, advisor on constitutional reform and inter-parliamentary cooperation to opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja, to 15 more days in jail.
“They staged another trial, as disgusting and vile as the previous one,” Anatol Labiedźka wrote on Facebook on April 12, without specifying the charge.
A Minsk court first sentenced Arciom Labiedźka to 15 days in jail on March 29, supposedly for using foul language. He was arrested one day earlier.
“The most disgusting thing is when they start taking your loved ones hostage,” the exiled politician said back at the time. “My son did not leave Belarus because he wanted to live there. He was convinced that having me as a father is the only thing he can be accused of!”
