EU allocates €2 million for Belarusian culture projects
December 20, BPN. The European Union has allocated €2 million for ArtPower Belarus to support 50 creative projects and 100 mobility programs in the next 28 months, Siarhiej Budkin of the Belarusian Council for Culture told journalists.
Funding for the Belarusian culture is “crucial for the Belarusian independent community,” he noted.
ArtPower Belarus supports smaller and larger projects for artists, up to 5,000 and 60,000 euros, project manager Taćciana Pašavałava said.
It also promotes mobility for Belarusian artists, allowing them to participate in festivals, events, and educational programs across Europe and Eastern Partnership countries, she added.
The EU signed a direct contract for €2 million with the council’s partner, Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
