Poll shows growing majority of Ukrainians negative toward Belarusians

August 27, Pozirk. The findings of a recent poll indicate that 70 percent of Ukrainians hold a negative attitude toward residents of Belarus, up from 52 percent in August 2022, 33 percent in April 2022, and four percent in 2021.
According to Rating Group, which conducted the survey earlier this month, 26 percent of those interviewed described their attitude to Belarusians as cold, while 44 percent described it as very cold. Twenty-one percent described their feelings as neutral and only eight percent called them warm.
The poll shows that Russians are more out of favor with Ukrainians than any other nation, with 91 percent of the respondents negative toward them in August 2026, up from 81 percent in August 2022.
Eighty-three percent of the interviewees reportedly said that Belarus is hostile to Ukraine, with more Ukrainians, 97 percent, ascribing hostility only to Russia.
Alaksandar Łukašenka ranked second after Vladimir Putin in terms of disfavor with Ukrainians, with 90 percent expressing negative feelings toward him versus 97 percent for Putin.
