Belarus receives another batch of Sukhoi fighter jets from Russia

December 27, Pozirk. Russia has delivered to Belarus another shipment of Sukoi Su-30SM2 fighter jets, said the Belarusian defense ministry.
The aircraft will soon be inspected by technicians and start operation within two weeks, Alaksandar Bialajeŭ, deputy air/air defense commander, is quoted as saying. He added that this is not the last batch, without specifying how many fighter jets have been delivered.
Andrej Račkoŭ of the Air/Air Defense Forces had said in August that the military was expecting to receive four more Su-30SM2 fighter jets from Russia at the end of 2025.
Belarus had received Su-30SM-2 fighter jets in August and what was described as the first batch in May.
Russia sold at least eight Su-30SM aircraft to Belarus in 2019 and 2020.
The Su-30SM-2 is an upgraded Russian twin-engine, two-seat multirole fighter derived from the Su-30SM, designed for air superiority and precision strike missions. It features improved avionics, a more powerful engine, enhanced radar and electronic warfare systems and compatibility with modern air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, increasing range, payload and combat effectiveness.
The Su-30SM2 has a detachable wing with fuel tank inside to facilitate transportation by cargo aircraft.
