Thunderstorm causes power outages across Viciebsk region

October 12, Pozirk. Strong winds and heavy showers have disrupted power supply in 37 towns across the Viciebsk region, with the Pastavy district affected the most, the Viciebsk regional executive committee says on Telegram.
Fallen trees and branches damaging power lines were the primary cause of the outages, it noted.
The roofs of four apartment buildings, several balconies and one car were reportedly damaged in Šumilina. The Minsk region was also affected, with roofs damaged in the Krupki district and six cases of fallen trees reported across the region, the emergency situations ministry said.
The thunderstorm destroyed a calf barn in Staraja Radča, Mahiloŭ region, trapping the animals under the rubble. Rescuers and farm workers successfully evacuated 75 calves, none of which were injured.
