Donations for Cichanoŭski’s rehabilitation exceed €9,000

July 19, Pozirk. Donations to support the rehabilitation of recently released Siarhiej Cichanoŭski exceeded the target amount of €8,000 a few hours after the launch of the fundraiser, according to bysol.org.
The fundraiser is still ongoing and has collected more than €9,000 as of today.
Cichanoŭski was pardoned on June 21 and was immediately taken to Lithuania following meeting in Minsk between Alaksandar Łukašenka and Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine.
Police arrested him two months before the 2020 election, as his sharp-edged campaign was gaining momentum and threatening to sweep Łukašenka from power. Later, he was given a lengthy prison term and was held incommunicado since March 2023 until his release in late June.
Cichanoŭski lost weight and needs medical tests, doctor consultations, prosthetic teeth and vision correction.
