Belarus, Pakistan sign military cooperation, readmission accords, discuss labor migration deal

April 11, Pozirk. Belarusian and Pakistani top officials have signed military cooperation and readmission accords and discussed a mechanism to bring Pakistani migrant workers to Belarus during talks in Minsk today.
State media quoted Alaksandar Łukašenka as saying at his meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that “there are many people in Pakistan who can and want to work in Belarus.”
The Belarusian Defense Industry Committee and the Pakistani Ministry of Defense Production approved a military-technical cooperation roadmap for 2025–2027, the defense ministry reported.
In addition, the interior ministries signed an agreement on cooperation in fighting crime.
Also signed were an action plan for implementing a memorandum of cooperation in environmental protection, a postal agreement between Biełpošta and Pakistan Post and a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian Foundation for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs and the Pakistani Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.
Earlier, 15 agreements were inked during Łukašenka’s trip to Pakistan on November 26, 2024. They included a roadmap for the “development of comprehensive cooperation” and an extradition deal.
