A Russian agency has launched the website \u0417\u0430\u0449\u0438\u0442\u043d\u0438\u043a.\u0411\u0415\u041b, using a Belarusian domain name, to recruit Belarusians to fight in the Russian army against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI-generated images, wages, mercenaries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The website uses AI-generated images of Belarusian soldiers wearing uniforms with red-white flag chevrons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency is recruiting people aged 18 to 58, offering monthly salaries much higher than the average wage in Belarus, as well as generous lump-sum payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, volunteers would receive a lump-sum payment of more than 82,000 rubels (more than $27,700) upon signing a contract with the Russian military, a monthly salary of more than 9,000 rubels ($3,100), and compensation ranging from 35,000 to 107,000 rubels for injuries and at least 443,000 rubels ($150,000) in the event of death. Soldiers are also offered bonuses for destroying Ukrainian military equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website claims that those who sign contracts with the Russian military would not face mercenarism charges in Belarus because \u201cthe legislation of the Russian Federation provides for the possibility of foreigners entering military service under contracts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian law carries a prison sentence of seven to 15 years for recruiting mercenaries for armed conflicts and three to seven years for participating in armed conflicts abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian authorities have prosecuted volunteers fighting for Ukraine, but those fighting for Russia have gone unpunished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russian recruiter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u0417\u0430\u0449\u0438\u0442\u043d\u0438\u043a.\u0411\u0415\u041b provides a Russian phone number for contact and identifies Personal Entrepreneur Rodionov Daniil Andreyevich as the operator responsible for personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search results show that Rodionov is employed as a director of Bratsky Sindikat, a military recruitment agency registered in Russia\u2019s Irkutsk province. The agency has been operating since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.\u0411\u0415\u041b is Belarus\u2019 official country-code top-level national domain supporting the Cyrillic script. A .\u0411\u0415\u041b domain name can be purchased only from accredited registrars or official partners of the technical administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian casualties on the Russian side<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chochu Zhit, a Ukrainian government-funded project, listed 742 Belarusians killed while fighting for Russia in April 2025. The number of recruits rose from just two in 2022 to 211 in 2023 and 377 in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contract dates are indicated for 590 soldiers and death dates for 95. The average time between signing a contract and death was 130 days. Some soldiers died just three weeks after signing a contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2025, Khochu Zhit reported that at least 314 Belarusian citizens had been killed fighting for Russia. Earlier, the project published several lists containing a total of 1,330 Belarusians who were fighting or had fought under contracts with the Russian military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data from Ukraine\u2019s Coordinating Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners, cited by opposition politician Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka in late May, at least 2,871 Belarusians had signed contracts with the Russian military and at least 440 had been killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another opposition politician, Vadzim Kaban\u010duk, said in Warsaw on August 8 that several thousand Belarusians were fighting on the Russian side, with the death toll estimated at more than 500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople actually take a one-way ticket without understanding it. According to Ukrainian statistics, the first battle turns out to be the last one for 80 percent of these people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
