July 22, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Micha\u0142 Kami\u0144ski, deputy marshal of the Polish Senate, has said that it is deeply immoral to ban all vehicles with Belarusian license plates from entering the European Union (EU) while letting in trucks that make money for Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and his team, the PRANAS YouTube channel reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kami\u0144ski was speaking with Anatol Labied\u017aka, an adviser to Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja, about restrictions announced by Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland still allows vehicles with Belarusian license plates to enter only if they are being driven by their owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banning ordinary Belarusians and regime victims from visiting their relatives in the EU is a political mistake, the Polish lawmaker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You cannot blame Belarusians for living in a dictatorship, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We, as Europeans, as Poles, as Lithuanians, as neighbors of the Belarusian people, must do everything to help the Belarusians.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We should not be helping \u0141uka\u0161enka to strengthen his dictatorship,” Kami\u0144ski added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Par\u0142amiencki Kana\u0142 reported the meeting between Kami\u0144ski and Labied\u017aka yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politicians discussed Poland’s upcoming chairmanship of the EU and activities of the parliamentary group For Democratic Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They agreed to hold a parliamentary forum on Belarus next year in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lithuania announced the ban on entry of all Belarus-registered passenger cars regardless of the nationality of their owner or driver on July 17, one day before it entered into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vilnius cited the European Union Council regulation 2024\/1865 of June 29, noting that the move was coordinated with Latvia and Estonia that used the same regulation to ban entry of vehicles with Belarusian license plates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
