It was Cichano\u016dskaja&#8217;s first meeting with Tusk after the united opposition&#8217;s victory in the parliamentary election in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The politicians also discussed support for Belarusian independent media and civil society and ways to secure the release of prisoners, such as Andrzej Poczobut (Andrej Pa\u010dobut), the Polish-Belarusian journalist serving an eight-year sentence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Cichano\u016dskaja thanked Poland for its solidarity and determination regarding the release of political prisoners, such as Pa\u010dobut,&#8221; Via\u010dorka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the adviser, Tusk invited Cichano\u016dskaja to pay a working visit to Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the summit, Cichano\u016dskaja shook hands with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;On behalf of Belarusians, we express our enormous support for Ukraine and its people, who are fighting for their and our freedom.
