July 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian and Chinese military will hold a joint antiterrorism exercise on July 8\u201319. The Chinese contingent has already arrived in Belarus, the Belarusian defense ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drill will help the parties to exchange experience, coordinate Belarusian and Chinese units and lay the groundwork for future joint training, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka, the Belarusian chief of staff, has met with Liu Zhe, the Chinese military attach\u00e9, to discuss areas of further cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, at a meeting with visiting Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu in August 2023, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said that Belarusian-Chinese military cooperation will not be aimed against other nations \u2013 instead, it will be aimed at protecting the peoples and governments of China and Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon after his return from Belarus, Li Shangfu stopped making public appearances. He was dismissed in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the Chinese Communist Party expelled him from its ranks, citing disciplinary and legal breaches. Li Shangfu was accused of corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
