June 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> A MAZ bus has caught fire in Homiel’s Navabielicki district, Silnyye Novosti<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Everything happened near the Mezhdunarodnaya stop. Passengers were taken out of the bus,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It added that three fire engines and two ambulances were spotted at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such fires are common in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 21, there were reports of smoke in two public buses in Minsk. It filled a MAZ bus in the Uru\u010d\u010da neighborhood after a generator broke. The driver had to use a fire extinguisher. Smoke was also smelled in a bus No. 84 at the Piatro\u016d\u0161\u010dyna stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 19, it was reported that a MAZ bus was completely burnt out on Ma\u0161era\u016d Avenue in Minsk. The emergencies ministry said no one was injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAZ buses also burn in Russia, supposedly because the production suffers from sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Russian media, at least nine Belarus-made buses caught fire in St. Petersburg last year. A year earlier, eight such cases were recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
