June 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has announced a proposal to build “another landmark facility” in Belarus “with the participation of Chinese specialists.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was speaking today in Minsk at a meeting with Hao Ping, the party secretary of Peking University, and officials from Chinese higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We want to agree with you on your help in building a Belarusian history museum similar to the one in China, especially when it comes to architecture. We are already cooperating with your specialists. It will be very close to here and will adorn our Minsk,” \u0141uka\u0161enka’s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He mentioned that a national stadium and a 50-meter long swimming pool are currently being built in Minsk with Chinese money. “We will complete this construction this year,” \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So, we have big plans in the economic and political fields. We will always be reliable friends for you,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called for the earliest possible implementation of a construction project for a Peking University sports center, which was agreed in December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am convinced that I will find time to visit you again and present Belarusian sports, including hockey, at a higher level. We want to cooperate with you. We want the Chinese to play world-class hockey, although you have already started playing it very seriously and participating in the Kontinental Hockey League. We are playing together in this [Russian] league,” \u0141uka\u0161enka noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
