May 31, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Two Polish soldiers were wounded and hospitalized over the past two days as a result of “aggressive behavior” of foreigners at the barrier on the border with Belarus, the Polish Border Guard reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the service, 310 migrants tried to enter the country illegally from Belarus on May 29 and 30. According to statistics from EU border services, Poland has registered 6,800 such attempts since the beginning of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early on May 28, foreigners had wounded a Polish soldier and two border guards on the border with Belarus. According to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, additional forces were deployed to the border in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, the Polish premier visited a border guard base in the village of Dubicze Cerkiewne and announced plans to restore a 200-meter buffer zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The migration crisis on the border between Belarus and the European Union has been ongoing since the spring of 2021. The authorities of Poland and the Baltic States consider it a hybrid attack organized by the regimes of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
