{"id":87997,"date":"2024-05-30T12:03:12","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T09:03:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/87997\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"belarus-exiled-scholars-to-establish-research-university","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/87997\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus&#8217; exiled scholars to establish research university"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>May 30, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian scholars are planning to establish a research university in exile to strengthen Belarusian identity and traditions of multiculturalism, historian Pavie\u0142 Ciera\u0161kovi\u010d announced at the project presentation in Warsaw yesterday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university will promote the Belarusian language, democratic values and intercultural dialogue, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja joined the presentation via a video link, describing the university as \u201can important strategic asset for the future of Belarusian research.\u201d Many of its founders &#8220;refused to serve the criminal regime and participate in the falsification of history,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university will employ 35 researchers and 11 administrative and support staff with a budget of about \u20ac6 million, according to Pavie\u0142 Barko\u016dski of the opposition transition cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be funded by sponsors, donations, individual and institutional international research grants, and tuition fees, he added, noting that the funding should be evenly distributed over three years starting 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the next three years, university founders plan to communicate with large donors and businesses, while registration and accreditation procedures are scheduled for 2025 and 2026 in one of the European Union\u2019s countries with education programs to follow, Barko\u016dski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/58478\/\">Opposition to start forming Belarusian university in 2024<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 30, Pozirk.
