May 29, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Lithuanian government has banned the import of more than 2,800 Belarusian and Russian goods. The document takes effect on June 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list was prepared by the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture, budas.lt<\/em> reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It noted that 24 groups of products, including livestock, meat and its by-products, fish, dairy products, eggs, natural honey, products of non-animal origin, plants, vegetables, fruits, coffee and spices, grains and cereals, oil, beverages and tobacco fall under the ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lithuanian authorities believe that the measure will allow them to weaken the economies of Belarus and Russia and strengthen Lithuania\u2019s national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 21, the Belarusian government announced the expansion of the list of goods banned for import from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia and Estonia to include beers, hygiene products and other items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
