May 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> A judge has declared extremist “Selected Works. Vac\u0142a\u016d \u0141asto\u016dski (1997)” and “Selected Works. Ale\u015b Pietra\u0161kievi\u010d (2017)” from the Bie\u0142aruski Knihazbor series at the request of Minsk prosecutors, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writer Vac\u0142a\u016d \u0141asto\u016dski, who stood at the origins of the Belarusian National Republic, was shot in 1938, but later exonerated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ale\u015b Pietra\u0161kievi\u010d (1930-2012) was a Belarusian and Soviet playwright, teacher and man of letters. In 1975-1992 he was the rector of the Minsk Institute of Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the annotation to “Selected Works. Ale\u015b Pietra\u0161kievi\u010d (2017),” in the main section the author tells about his studies at Belarusian State University, his work at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus (with Piotr Ma\u0161era\u016d) and at the Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia (with Piatru\u015b Bro\u016dka and Ivan \u0160amiakin). The book also contains Pietra\u0161kievi\u010d’s most interesting history plays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 11, a collection of works by Belarusian classic Vincent Dunin-Marcinkievi\u010d was removed from the National Register of Extremist Content. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u017dytkavi\u010dy District Court in the Homiel region declared the two-volume edition extremist in November 2023, sparking a public outcry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
