April 11, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Restrictions on exports of European cars with engine capacity exceeding 1.9 liters to Belarus and Russia should help combat sanction evasion, Poland’s finance ministry told Deutsche Welle<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry described Belarus as a “high-risk country” known for helping Russia circumvent Western sanctions and cited the 2014 regulations of the European Union’s Council that prohibit involvement in sanctions evasion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, it did not explain why the ban applies only to cars with certain engine capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late March, Belarus’ Western neighbors restricted exports of European cars worth more than \u20ac50,000 without formally announcing new rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
