February 20, Pozirk<\/strong>. Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has warned generals in Minsk that the \u201ccollective West\u201d is preparing for the third world war, the unofficial Telegram channel of his press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His statement comes as NATO strengthens its eastern flank in response to Russia\u2019s full-scale war against Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. Minsk backed the invasion and allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka accused Washington and its allies of expanding NATO, noting that \u201cthe situation is more than favorable for them.\u201d Nearly all European leaders have become \u201cUS subjects,\u201d he is quoted as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe forecast is grim. The appetite and activity of the collective West will only increase,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the alliance has deployed about 32,000 troops, more than 1,000 armored vehicles, about 160 artillery systems and 235 aircraft close to Belarus and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
