January 9, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Polish security forces arrested on December 20 a Belarusian woman suspected of spying for the Committee for State Security (KGB), infosecurity24.pl<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For three months, she had been passing information about exiled Belarusians and diaspora activities in Poland to the KGB, Polish prosecutors said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish security officers reportedly conducted searches, seized data storage devices and interviewed witnesses across Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman was charged with conducting operations against Poland for foreign intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Polish court upheld prosecutor’s request to hold the suspect in custody for three months, citing possible escape attempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was not the first instance of Poland accusing Belarusians of spying. On December 19, a judge in Lublin sentenced 14 foreigners, three Belarusians among them, to prison terms ranging from one month to six years on charges of spying for Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
