\n May 15, BPN<\/span>.<\/b> Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja stressed the importance of being prepared for the democratic transformation of Belarus noting Alaksandr \u0141uka\u0161enka’s long absence from the public space.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t “There are many rumors about the dictator \u0141uka\u0161enka’s health,” she has tweeted<\/a>. “For us, it means only one thing: we should be well prepared for every scenario. To turn Belarus on the path to democracy and to prevent Russia from interfering. We need the international community to be proactive and fast.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\t On May 9, \u0141uka\u0161enka attended the Victory Day parade at Moscow’s Red Square. Footage circulated by the Russian media shows that his arm was bandaged. He struggled to move around. He was driven to a wreath laying site, whereas the other Eurasian leaders arrived on foot, and skipped the \u201cinformal breakfast\u201d hosted by Vladimir Putin.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t In the evening, \u0141uka\u0161enka participated in a wreath laying ceremony at Victory Square in Minsk but stopped short of making a speech, which was unusual and occurred for the first time during his rule.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \u0141uka\u0161enka has not appeared in public since May 9.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t On May 13, he might have visited a hospital in \u017ddanovi\u010dy near Minsk, Euroradio<\/span> reported.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t On the same day, \u0141atu\u0161ka called on Belarusian patriots loyal to \u0141uka\u0161enka “to take the side of the people and democratic forces.” Later, he said \u0141uka\u0161enka may have myocarditis caused by infection.\n<\/p>\n
