Snia\u017cana Cadova, one of the arrested, faces charges of inciting hatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities released Sciapan Ta\u0142ka\u010do\u016d who had served two and a half years in prison for online comments on the 2021 shootout involving an IT engineer and KGB officers, known as the &#8220;Zielcer case,&#8221; the Brest branch of Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New criminal cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities have not released Siarhiej Moni\u010d after he had served a three-year prison term on charges widely seen as politically motivated,&nbsp;<em>dissident.by<\/em>&nbsp;reported. He will be held punishment cell until September 19 and may face new criminal charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities sentenced Michai\u0142 \u0141apuno\u016d to 15 days in jail for the second consecutive time for allegedly sharing opposition content, the Homiel branch of Viasna said. His son Mikita Za\u0142ataro\u016d, a legal minor arrested in 2020, is currently serving four and a half years in prison on charges widely seen as politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u017amitryj Siniuta went on trial in Homiel on September 5, the Homiel branch of Viasna said. Authorities accuse him of inciting hatred, promoting extremism and insulting Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A day earlier, Ja\u016dhien Horma\u0161 went on trial in Minsk on three criminal charges, Viasna reported. In 2020, authorities arrested and fined him for chanting opposition slogans during the presidential campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaksandar Sharabajka, a bodybuilder from H\u0142ybokaje, Viciebsk region, will go on trial on September 13 for allegedly insulting \u0141uka\u0161enka, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extremist list update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior ministry blacklisted\u00a0<em>Ranak TV<\/em>, a private media company based in \u015aviet\u0142ahorsk, Homiel region, as an extremist group on September 5,\u00a0<em>Pozirk<\/em>\u00a0reported. Authorities are said to persecute its journalists in connection with their coverage of the June 7 explosion at the local pulp and cardboard mill that killed several people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New political prisoners<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarusian human rights groups declared 15 more people political prisoners. Charges against them range from public order offenses and insults against state officials to extremist funding and terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of September 7, human rights defenders identified at least 1,510 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
