The decline has become a recurring October trend: attempts dropped by about 16 percent in October 2025 and by nearly 38 percent in October 2024 after a 23-percent rise in October 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Latvia remained the main target of irregular crossings via Belarus last month, accounting for 84.4 percent of all attempts. Lithuania reported about 15 percent, while Poland accounted for 0.7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus western neighbors have thwarted 14,948 irregular crossings since the start of 2026, including 12,637 by Latvia; 1,829 by Lithuania; and 482 by Poland.
