November 2, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The growth of real (inflation-adjusted) pay continues to stimulate consumer demand in Belarus, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) says in its weekly macroeconomic review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real pay increased by 7.4 percent year on year in September after rising by 8.1 percent in August, the EDB said, noting that employers \u201ccontinued to raise pay through staff shortages.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Belarus\u2019 unemployment rate declined from 2.1 percent in the second quarter to an all-time low of 1.9 percent in the third quarter, the review said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EDB described September\u2019s increase in the government\u2019s Base Rate as another factor behind growing incomes in the public sector. They rose by 8.3 percent last month, exceeding the economy\u2019s average, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
