{"id":208977,"date":"2026-10-26T11:53:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T08:53:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/208977\/"},"modified":"2026-10-26T11:53:26","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T08:53:26","slug":"belarusian-returned-in-prisoner-swap-cooperated-with-kgb-polish-media","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/208977\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian returned in prisoner swap cooperated with KGB \u2013 Polish media"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 26, <em>Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Nadziejka, handed over by Poland to Belarus earlier this year in a five-for-five exchange, had cooperated with the Committee for State Security (KGB), Poland\u2019s <em>TVP<\/em> reported yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nadziejka, a former member of Paspalitaje Ru\u0161enne, an organization that provided weapons handling and fitness training for exiled Belarusians, was arrested in Bia\u0142ystok and accused by Polish investigators of spying for Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journalists said he shared names of Paspalitaje Ru\u0161enne\u2019s members with the KGB, meeting his handlers in Budapest, where Belarusian and Russian intelligence services reportedly operated freely during Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s tenure as prime minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report also said that Alexandru Balan, a former deputy head of the Moldovan intelligence service, arrested in Romania in September 2025, also had cooperated with the KGB and had been spotted in Budapest. Polish journalists identified Belarusian agents U\u0142adzimir Vara\u017ebita\u016d, U\u0142adzimir Jarmak and Mika\u0142aj Duk\u0161ta as likely handlers in Hungary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nadziejka moved from Hrodna to Poland after Belarus\u2019 2020 political crisis and settled in Bia\u0142ystok, where he carried out \u201cespionage activities\u201d while posing as a taxi driver, the report said. However, his lifestyle suggested he was financially well-off: he rented an expensive apartment and paid the rent in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 28, Minsk freed and handed over to Poland journalist and Polish minority activist Andrej Pa\u010dobut (Andrzej Poczobut) and four other prisoners.
