Belarus is \u201cpreparing for war\u201d but \u201cis trying by all means to avoid it,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka added. \u201cNeither we nor you need it,\u201d he said. \u201cBut we must be ready to prevent it. That is why our joint group of forces will always be necessary in the western direction. And it is in a good shape today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia sought Minsk\u2019s permission to deploy ballistic weapons in Belarus in order to attack western Ukraine.
